2025 Update

I seem to forget to update my blog, even though I send out a monthly newsletter!  Please subscribe if you are interested!  I'm going to try to get in the habit of writing a short recap of my newsletter on the blog and send both out at the same time.  

I finished quite a few projects since my last blog post, all of which are included on my website.   In addition, I had a solo art show in May 2024.  My goal was to learn how to draw portraits and showcase them at the show, and display all of the work I had completed up until then.  It was a huge undertaking, because matting and framing artwork is a lot of work (and money!)  And it takes a lot of artwork to fill an entire gallery!!

When the show was finished, I needed a bit of a break and I was a little unsure of what direction to take with my art or what my next goal was going to be.  I really enjoy drawing portraits, but I wanted to tell more of a story.  So I decided to draw people doing things, and I just happened to stumble on a cute photo of boys in a boat.  And so began my series that I'm calling Wonder Years, of children-themed art.  I hope to enter a group show this year to showcase the new series, which will be lass labor intensive than a solo show.

So...stay tuned for my next project...can't wait to share it when it is complete!
